Louisiana Blast Baseball is a youth baseball organization.
Our tournament baseball teams are made up of boys' ages 9 and up who train in our new 7,000 square foot, indoor training facility.
In addition to the opportunity to play on our tournament teams, members of the Blast Organization also have access to multiple baseball clinics and training academies throughout the year.
A new year, A new chance...TO IMPROVE!
LOUISIANA BLAST BASEBALL
Thank you for your interest in our organization. I would like to provide you with a brief overview of what our program has to offer.
STAFF: Russ Johnson is the head coach of the Louisiana Blast Baseball organization. He is a former LSU and MLB player that teaches his players all of the fundamentals of baseball and prepares them for high school and beyond. He will manage practices and assist in preparing the lineup cards for each tournament. Each team will then be assigned an individual coach that will attend practices and be at their games with them on the weekends.
EVENTS: We generally participate in approximately ten tournaments per season. I will handle all scheduling and try to keep our teams as close to home as possible: Baton Rouge, Gonzales, Hammond, and Zachary/St. Francisville area. All practices and tournaments should be completed by July 1.
PRACTICES: All practices will be held at our 7000 sq. ft indoor facility which is located at 9121 Cockerham Road in Denham Springs, Louisiana. The team practices will be held approximately two days per week. Our facility is equipped with six indoor batting stations, six indoor mounds, five outdoor mounds, an outdoor practice field, and a weight room.
FEES: Uniforms will need to be purchased separately through Red Stick Sports in Baton Rouge. Once teams are selected there will be a deposit due which will hold each player's position on that team. This deposit will be applied toward the remaining dues balance. Team dues for ages 9-12U $2300 and 13 & 14U $2550. This amount will include all of the player’s tournament entry fees, practice fees, and coaching fees. We will have several dues payment options to choose from.
FUNDRAISING: Russ allows our players/teams to hold any fundraising options amongst themselves, in order to assist in paying dues.
WORLD SERIES: We do not participate in a world series as an organization due to trying to keep family costs to a minimum. However, some of our teams do still opt to hold fundraisers and attend a world series with their coach.
TRYOUT/REGISTRATION: Please visit our website at lablast.org for tryout/team registration forms and medical releases.
